<p>The international scientific and practical journal «<strong>Chrezvychaynye situatsii: obrazovanie i nauka</strong>» («<em>Emergency Situations: Education and Science</em>») was founded in 2006 by the higher educational institution «Gomel Engineering Institute» of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus (now the Branch «Institute of Vocational Education» of the State Educational Establishment «University of Civil Protection of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus») and distributed on the territory of the Republic of Belarus and beyond its borders. The journal was published every six months, during its existence 20 issues were published. <p>Methodological approaches to analysis of extraordinary situations basing on the use of dynamic system theory are considered. The approaches allow taking into account small disturbances leading to system instability and as а consequence appearance of critical situations. Brief characterization of methods of dynamic system theory, neuron net theory, recognition theory, and percolation theory is given.
