TY - JOUR AU - Rudol'f, Валерий AU - Kondratovich, Александр AU - Kaminskiy, Андрей AU - Surikov, Андрей AU - Kudryashov, Вадим PY - 2018/02/15 Y2 - 2024/03/29 TI - Snow load emergency situations prevention with the monitoring system equipment for steel horizontal structures JF - Journal of Civil Protection JA - JCP VL - 2 IS - 1 SE - Safety in emergencies (technical sciences) DO - 10.33408/2519-237X.2018.2-1.53 UR - https://journals.ucp.by/index.php/jcp/article/view/110 SP - 53-66 AB - <p><em>Purpose.</em> The article is devoted to snow load emergency situations prevention using the laser rangefinder monitoring system equipment for steel horizontal structures.</p><p><em>Methods.</em> Experimental and theoretical studies on the steel roof truss deflections under snow load using the monitoring system equipment.</p><p><em>Findings.</em> It was found that the steel roof truss deflections under snow load, obtained with the laser rangefinder monitoring system equipment Sense S-One, correspond to the data of a more accurate measuring instrument – a TST (total station theodolite), and conform satisfactorily with the calculation results.</p><p><em>Conclusions.</em> The values of the laser rangefinder monitoring system data correspond to the data of a more accurate measuring instrument – a TST (total station theodolite). It might be mentioned that the error of the laser rangefinder monitoring system does not allow to evaluate the results with a value (or step) less than 2.0 mm. The calculated deflection in comparison with the experimental data was constantly 44 % higher, which indicates a correlation between the calculation results and experiment. Higher calculated values of deflection are acceptable, because they are obtained for idealized hinge support conditions and give a safety margin.</p> ER -
