Abstract

The connection between Gaussian puff and Gaussian plume models for releases of hazardous materials is considered. It is pointed out that for a certain choice of expressions for dispersion the Gaussian plume can be presented in the form of a superposition of an infinite sequence of puffs. An approximate expression for the concentration of hazardous materials in the case of release of finite duration is presented.
