Abstract

Purpose. Obtaining expert assessments of the importance of professional competencies of specialists in extreme professions in order to determine the priority of various groups of professional competencies for students of the Faculty of Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations and the Faculty of Technosphere Safety.

Methods. The study of the priority of professional competencies of specialists in extreme professions was carried out by surveying students using an expert assessment questionnaire developed by the author based on educational standards 6-05-1033-01 and 6-05-1033-02.

Findings. For students of the Faculty of Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations, the most important are two categories of professional competencies that relate to special competencies of operational-tactical activities: tactical-special and operational-technical. These categories of competencies are practice-oriented and necessary to perform a combat mission directly in an emergency zone. The professional activities of graduates of the Faculty of Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations, who are assigned to the positions of station officer, take place in the most extreme conditions. A high level of these competencies is necessary for specialists to successfully perform emergency response tasks. For the students of the Faculty of Technosphere Safety all organizational, managerial, engineering, operational, production, technological and law enforcement competencies are equally prioritized. Among the supervisory and preventive competencies, the most important are the following: to analyze the state of fire and industrial safety, to develop proposals aimed at enhancing safety, to plan fire preventive and supervisory work, to organize training in fire safety rules and develop relevant instructions.

Application field of research. The presented research results were obtained in the field of professional training of extreme profile specialists and can be used in drawing up training programs, distributing the academic load, and planning training time in various disciplines.
